Cavorting in Kamakura (鎌倉) More weekend antics in the Japanese hinterlands |
Kazu and Yumi, two kind souls willing to put up with my incoherent combination of Japanese and English, invited me on a road trip to Kamakura, a fairly popular tourist stop on the Japanese circuit. A trip that involved a huge Buddha and a chance to tool around the Japanese countryside in an automobile, a form of transportation one rarely has occasion to make use of in this train-crazy country, was not one I was going to pass up. So I gleefully accepted and even got to sit in the front seat so I could see all the lovely sights. But enough with the banter, click the photos at left and have a look for yourself. |
