I like this new self-deprecating Brad Pitt. He did a fine job of it in Burn After Reading as well. This is also a step back in the right direction for Tarantino, in my opinion. IB has the style, grit and good old fashioned stomach-clenching tension that put him on the map in the first place. Perhaps he’s returning to his roots.

I love prawns! And this gritty, disturbing and extraordinary film. These days sci-fi tends to feel like promotional videos for future products. This one returns to the noble tradition of exploring and commenting on human nature by portraying how people react to crazy future stuff.

The hilarity edged out the eye-rolling in this one. Maybe Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are better with the fart jokes than Paul Rudd and David Wain. They’ll be getting the benefit of the doubt for a good long while after Superbad.
