Hard hitting humor of the caliber one would expect from Mr Amis. Also a depressing glimpse at the inner life of a fictional Russian. Having traveled across Russia shortly after finishing this novel, I can feel some of the truth in it.

Like a tasting menu at a fine French restaurant, these bit-sized morsels of Murakami were exquisitely delicious and built unexpectedly on one another into a satisfying meal.
