Advanced Wars 2 – GBA (4)

Pure gaming satisfaction. I never would have thought I’d play through the whole story mode again in advanced mode, or open up and play every last war room map, but I just couldn’t stop playing this game. The complexity, the difficulty, the variety, everything was just right.

Catcher in the Rye – J. D. Salinger (4)

A fantastic book. I love Holden Caulfield! It boggles the mind that they make us read things like this in high school when we’re smack dab in the middle of sorting these things out for ourselves and are in no position to look reflectively on someone else’s struggle.

Making Sense of Japanese – Jay Rubin (3)

More fascinating commentary on Japanese by Mr. Rubin. I look forward to the day I can reread this book and chuckle along side him rather than gape in awe at the things I’m going to have to do to my brain before I finally internalize this language.

Sputnik Sweetheart – Haruki Murakami (3)

Last and least, I’m afraid to say. Not that it doesn’t have that characteristic Murakami feel, but it didn’t get me in my heart’s heart.
